67 front frame rails
when you say front frame rails what part are you talking about? are you refering to the rails that the engined sits between and that the shock towers are mounted to or the rails that go up under the floorpan?
its not an easy job, i did it on my 66
it takes a lot of patience and close measuring to ensure that you get everything back in the right spot
is your frame rusted or bent?

Yeah those are bad. You can do it if your somewhat mechanically inclined. It requires a lot of welding, prep work to ensure metal is clean. My frame rails came in teo peices that need to be welded but before I did that I coated the inside to revent rust. There are bolts that needed to be welded in there too for re-attaching crossmembers, etc. I replaced both frame rails on my 67 and it is a tough dirty job. Removing all that metal and ensuring the new metal is back in there correctly take time and patience. I built a jig out of wood to ensure everything lined up. I tackled on side at a time.
I too did my 67 one side at a time, here is a link to some photos http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2842869
I welded up some jigs to place at all the bolt holes, then when I replaced the rails I could line up all the bolt holes. I also bought a repro shop manual and we checked the dimensions as we went along. It is a big job but it can be done!

o i no it could be done with all the right tools, which i think im prepared. mine too came in two pieces. but when u guys made up a jig to line everything up what would be a good example? like did anyone run rods from the other side to line up? whats the easiest way to approach this? any response is appreciated thanks guys...
mine are like that, but i bought the whole inner fender assembly with shock towers and everything already in one piece.. kinda pricey but they're nice and its everything in one chunk. you should check them out
Hello there, I had a frame guy do mine on my 67 Coupe. I'm glad I did because there was a few parts more than the frame I had to deal with. If your passenger side floor pan is bad you will need to replace that before you can weld the frame in. I also needed the passenger side floor pan extension, which is the front angled part. Torque box etc etc. And don't forget about the sway bar mount which has to be welded on before the strut rod brace and the frame rail can be welded together. You can't find that part too easy, try www.karmustang.com other than that I really wish I new how to weld. that's my next project. Have fun.
