also about how much of an increase in hp and torque will a cam add from the stock one? significate change?

Most of the stock 60's and 70's flat tappet cams are whimpy, and chaning to a modern grind will net you some power, or at least better drivability and economy.

lunati bracket master II ftw do you part number 638-00093LK in the how to build your small block ford for max power that cam with 2v head,intake,carb,headers made 405hp but id definitely look into getting the heads reworked with some one piece valves dont ask me how i know[:@] the stock 2piece are a weak point esp being 37 yrs old

do i need the timeing chain and stuff or just that kit? will it really increase in hp. im gonna get it dynoed once i get the cam and intake in. its got headers.

yeah definitek get a nice double roller chain id go ahead and save up to get an intake and carb at the same time also since you have to pull the intake alsoget this http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...10002_30058_-1 also alot cheaper than buying all the gaskets individually but you will have to buy a intake gasket set because the 351c uses a metal valley pan but id just use a plain one720-211 maybe ask for the carb and intake for christmas

I would just get the kit.. Its usually easier and comes with lube and everything.. Cam, lifters, timing chain set

i was running a crane engerizer cam with .524 lift and 272 duration its seemed fairly tame to me in my cleve that brackrt master should be exactly what your looking for

well im a complete dumb butt when it comes to this duration greek. maybe yall can help me. i would like to get pretty big on the cam but not so big that i have to change other things. whats a good sounding mild cam duration and lift that i could slap in and be done
