Default RPO's for classics

Is there a way to get the RPO's for a 66? I have the regular tag that has colors, engine, trans, Etc, but how do you know what came with the car as it rolled off the assembly line?

You have the most important thing. It should have all the info you need. From 67 up, you could get a "Marti" report. I don't think they have the database for the 5's and 6's though. You can look for a build sheet taped to the wiring harness or under the carpet in the rear floor board but often time has destroyed these.

So if I wanted to add some factory options that didn't come with the car originally, nobody would really know thats nott how it came?

Heres what i got. I picked up a original 66 convertable in amazing shape for a 66. All solid, no rust, it will need paint and some cleanup/tinkering time, but it runs and drives with no issues. I want to keep it original but I want to make it a better driver by adding power brakes and maybe power steering. Also even though its a convertable I would still like to add A/C due to the hightemperatures hereduring the summer. Any drawbacks or opinions to doing this?

Power brakes were not an option for that year, but yeah that sounds good.

I read online that they were, although maybe they were wrong. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a Mustang nor a Ford guy. Hell, I'm not even a car guy, I'm more into trucks and diesels. But I have Mustang now and this looked to be the best site to get started with.
