302 or 351?

Default 302 or 351?

i have an option of getting a dynoed and blue-printed 302 for $900 or a 351 for free that i would have to rebuild. this is for my 67. let me know what u guys think

all i no is that it has brand new heads and a holly carb. (i was just offered it like an hour ago, i didnt see it but wat i hear its a really nice motor, it came out of a cougar)

well, looks like you have on one hand...lots of personal preferenceoptions and the knowlege of know what kind of work is involved with the 351. the easy power is a nice partto.
while on the other handyou have the 302, that sounds like its ready to go, could be madenear featherlight and quick.
could you get a good cost comparison between the two?302 vs rebuild costs of 351

Interseting..I am wrestling with the exact problem. I guess it depends on two things, your budget and your wants. I am going for the cheap 351 and rebuilding it. I am guessing that the rebuild will be about the same money, unless you go really radical?

If you have the space, get the 302 and the 351 (since it's free). When you have the money, rebuild the 351.
