i thought the k-codes had 4 bolt mains....but i have been wrong before

no, just heavy duty main caps like the mex 302's and the boss blocks had 4 bolt mains only fac production 302 to have such the hi-po 289 blocks were suppose to have thicker main caps and thicker webbing castings up to the cam journals

Default 40 overbored questions for 302

I have a 302 block that is 40 over do you think that is too much bore for a turbo or too much bore period or am i safe

Safe bore is up to .060 over so you should be good. I would get your compression ratio to figure out how much boost. If you have a high compression ratio you can't run as much boost as you could would a lower compression ratio.

I had a 289 that I was gonna rebuild due to a busted piston ring (blow by) but after contacting a previous owner he told me he bored it .30 over. For spending the money at the machine shop to go .40 over, I didn't feel like having issues so I went with an 86 block with one piece rear main seal and had a 347 built. Fordstrokers.com built a long block shipped to my house for $3K. Cant beat that. Check out their Liberator.
