Fiberglass body panels lol....

Aluminum heads and intake, strip your sound deadener, empty the trunk, and stop dating fat girls....

Back away from the table...

Gut the interior, take off the bumpers, remove the side glass and mechanisms, heater core, defroster box, front grill, use lightweight wheels, acid dip fenders, shorten exhaust... There's a million ways to lose weight... But... Mainly...

Back away from the table.

From my sport bike background I learned rotating mass is the best weight to remove in any application.

Alu.Wheels nitrogen filled tires yes it does weigh less than O2.
Funny watching the rice crowd go high dollar bolt ons for HP then put huge wheel and tire combos that weigh a lot more than what they had.

Alu.Flywheel This one is debatable due to the heavier flywheel is believed to make more torque due to once its spinning the mass helps hold the rpms. Not for sure if thats true or not.
Alu driveshaft. Expensive but worth it. Can even go big $$$ and go carbon kevlar.
Hope this helps.

The best weigh to lose weight on a front engine V8 car is to go to more aluminum parts in the powertrain, and composite body panels, either lightweight fiberglass or carbon-kevlar. But saying "How do I lose weight without going to composite panels" is like saying "How do I lose weight without losing weight."

As far as weight savings, good lightweight composite body panels can weigh as little as 25-35% of their steel counterparts, and most aluminum engine related parts(heads, intake etc) are usuallya little under50% the weight of the iron counterparts. Taking weight off the front on a front heavy car has a huge positive impact on everything ranging from braking, to accleration to cornering. And yes, definately reduce unsprung rotational weight. Losing 20lbs in wheel weight will make a MUCH bigger difference than losing 20lbs in body weight.

How I lost weight:
[ul][*]Headliner-out[*]Quater window and passenger window lifts-out[*]A/C-out[*]Racing seats(sparco)-in soon[*]Rear seat out[*]Eddelbrock heads, manifold and carb- in soon[*]TCP G-Bar rear suspension upgrade- in soon[*]TCP front coil overs- in soon[*]Dash pad- out[*]TCP rack and pinion- in soon[*]TCP Alluminum strut bar- in[*]Aftermarket P/S pump- in soon[*]Headers...i think they are lighter than manifold-in[*]Electric fan-in[*]Alluminum water pump-in[*]Carpet and insulation- out[*]Among a few others[/ul]I havent put the car on the scale yet -due to the fact it doesnt move- but when i get the tranny fixxed il see how much weight iv lost. I think i started around the area of 3300 and conservitave(this is a number off the top of my head) estimates put me at -200 lbs +/-, and thats before the subframe and crash cage. Alluminum is 60% lighter than steel, give or take a few % i did the math in my head.

Yes Nitrogen does weigh less but u wont see the difference on a scale less us spend 50g on one. As for the wheels, if you mean those +18", yes they do weigh more but the one thing they do gain over the small 14"-16" wheels is reduced tire deflection or twist and gaining cornering traction and stability. I do however agree that anything over 20" is just ridiculous and i hope they break on a pot hole.
