I need stuff for a 73 Mach 1
Hello all , I am in the middle of doing the body and paint on a friends 73 Mach 1 and I came here to see if anyone could help me out with a couple pieces . First off I am wondering if anyone knows of somebody that has or can make a lightweight (fibreglass or carbonfibre) front bumber (fake of course , not to withstand impacts), these original things are freakin heavy man , its rediculous . The next thing I am looking for is a hood , a fibreglass hood , it's a Mach 1 but it has a 3.5" cowl rise , I think carhoods.com calls it a 'Dominator' , I am in Canada and apparently they do not ship to Canada and I am having trouble finding one anywhere else. Any help would be greatly appreciated .
P.S , can someone decode the serial number for me I am curious to know if this was a real Mach 1 or not. 3F05H254577- Body 63R -color 3B

That hood http://www.darkhorseracing.net/71-73_mustang.htm email them and ask if they ship to canada for bumpers http://www.critesrestoration.com/mustang.htm and do the same see if they will ship to you.Or if they wont make a friend in the cloest us city to you and have it shipped there and go get it.Yes its a real mach1 was a 351c with a 2 barrel carb factory color was light blue.
Well, the enduraflex bumper used on the 71-72 is the same but... the 71-72 bumper is dramatically different than the 73. The chrome bumper was a 71-72 ONLY deal. There were no chrome front bumpers in 73.
The 73 bumper was bigger and heavier and the endsused a shorter upturnthan the 71-2. As a result the fenders and fender extensions are different as well.
The 73 fenders will physically fit on the 71-72 but the bumper differences will require either a modification of the fender to use the correct extension OR the use of the 73 bumper.
The enduraflex bumper for the 71-72 are getting very hard to find. I sold a damaged one recently for 50.00 and it needed work to the brackets. Ususally the rubber is broken or cut beyond repair. The steel inner structures are also prone to rust and render them useless.
I hope that helps, Dean

Reason i asked is this http://www.critesrestoration.com/mustang.htm look at the bumpers 72-73 but no 71 odd aint it.
On my '73 I put on a '71 chrome bumper, lower valence, and grill yet I used the '73 fenders. Sure I had to adjust the bumper a little but once that was done it looks like it came that way from the factory.
