Default Windshield wipers..

I was just wondering, as I was looking at a bunch of restomods with a bunch of cool modern upgrades, has anyone ever adjusted the windshield wipers to have more than just one mode? Honestly, I can't even drive the car most of the time up here in Seattle when it's raining because the wipers are so god damn slow. Hahaha.. I don't know if later models (67-73) allow you to adjust the speed but I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this "upgrade" in a 641/2-66?

Look on here http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort they sell a variable speed switch. Or the 67-73 wiper motor is a 2 speed besides more wires coming off it,it looks just like the one speed for the 64/66.Wonder how hard it would be to get one to work.

Andrewmp6, the link didn't work.

kryo, sounds like your wiper motor may be bad. FWIT MM did an article on intermittant wiper switches a couple of months back. Here's a link to wiper motor fix from mustang monthly how to section: http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/...lls/index.html

My '66 has a 2 speed wipers and a washer. I think it was an option. Check eBay or craigslist and maybe you can find a 2 speed motor.

Yay for seattle! I know my 68 has 2 speeds for the windshield wipers, fast, and too fast, seriously, it really has to be raining for the speed to actually be useable, otherwise I just click it on and off so I get one pass, or just tap the washer button so that it just goes once. I'm not sureif the earlier 'stangs had variable speeds, but you might be able to get the switch out of a later model and retrofit it into yours. Anyways, good luck!
