Default Tri Y problems

anyone have tri y's that hit the fenderwell and pitman arm? i have a set of ceremic ones from Patriot and they hit, had to space the engine up to keep from hitting, and they are starting to rust...

are there any others that are known NOT to hit? Hookers?

Great, I just ordered a new set of Doug's headers (tri-y) which are now owned by Patriot. I'll let you know if they are any better.

I went through 2 sets of the ceramic Patriots a while back and had nothing but problems. Could not get them in at all. One set was up against the shock tower, and the other pressed up against the starter. Ended up going with ceramic Heddman that slid right in w/out any problems.

mine hit the shock tower too. so i machined a 1/2 inch spacer to go between the engine and the motor mount. it raised it up enough so the headers wouldnt hit.

Put them on my 67 ,289 Coupe, they went on Ok, but the Pitmam Arm hits at full turn and they leacked do to a bad factory weld that took me a whle to find. When I bought the Tri Y I was hoping for less trouble but it didn't work out that way.The car run really well with them.
