"Shelby Sacks SAAC"
in response to d_ford... SAAC has merged with the Ford SVT, actually taking over control of that club from Ford. They announced it at the convention in Utah. Lot's of SVT people there...so I would say yes..SAAC is recognizing the new generation of Ford and Shelby mustangs
I'm not so sure that he walked away from Ford, or it was the other way around. Their was a 429 "SHELBY" intake cast for what I was told a run of 71 Shelby's that never happened. Also, it was the time of OPEC(Ole PEckerheaded Camel drivers) and theclose of the muscle car era. Anyway, I wish the best of luck to both, and maybe someday they will all kiss and make up.
Shelby was fed up dealing with Ford and was unhappy with the direction the Mustang was taking. Ford would have produced a 1971 Shelby but he asked for to stop production in 1969. That's when he started the chili business.
