Default electrical question

hey guys im having a problem with my break lights on my 69 mustang. a few days ago i had some smoke come up through my steering wheel, now my break lights dont work. i have traced the power up to my turn signal switch and thats where it stops,would i bebetter off just getting a newturn signal switch ormaybe try to soder anew wire into place?? aslo as im going through all my wires it looks kinda like a birds nest and i wouldkinda like to clean that up alittleso i was wondering if there is any books out there that are specifically for 69-70 mustangs electrical wireing? besides like chilton there kinda brod.. thanks for the help

I would replace the switch. Often you can get it to work but it will not last.

Replace the switch, you'll be happier in the long run. Wiring diagrams are avail foreach year from various vendors, for around 6 bucks. Plus there are some online links for free, Start in the FAQ section.
