export brace and carlo bar going in!!!! sorta
so I finally have an export bracer and carlo bar and today i went out side and roughly lined it up. I don't think ive ever heard good stories from this so im pretty much prepared for whats coming (any pointers here would make my day). From what i can tell, the right fender is up and out or the opposite for the left. Its also like 3/4 over the bolts in the back. As far as sage i don't think there is to much. Im trying to amke sure i know exactly were its off so i can then figure out how to "gently" beat the hell outa it till it goes were i want it to. Here are some pics

so i bolted it in at the back and its definately a solid 3/4 off. So that means the shock tower has come in towards the fire wall so i got it jacked up on the frame rails to see how much it will come foward.
Try jacking one side of the car up. Or try to make a spreader. I got the idea from one of the guys here. Buy a steel pipe, and 1 large regular nut, 1 reverse thread nut, and 2 large bolts to thread into the nuts. You can get it all from home depot for less than $15. Take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld 1 nut to each end of the pipe, then thread the bolts into the nuts. Use a metal plate to distribute the force of the bolts against your inner fenders and just turn one of the nuts and it will spread the sides out.
Try lifting the front of the car off the ground and placing jackstands under the frame rails, aft of the cowl so the weight of the vehicle will help pull it apart. Put the Monte Carlo Bar on first as it will help separate the shock towers outward. Next, loosely bolt the export brace onto both shock towers and then use a steel drift to pry the firewall holes into place.
Good luck!
Jeff

Bolt it in on the shock towers
Jack the car up and put it on stands with stands as far back on the front sub frame as you can get.
Let it sit 24 hours
Then install the rear bolts, if they still don't go in, drill them using the brace that is laying there as the template and bolt in the bar
