Default Looking at fastbacks

I'm looking at buying a ~68 fastback in need of restoration. The only problem is I'm not sure how much they are really worth. I'm sure there's a difference between the 289 and the 390. The Shelby's are way out of my range so I don't need to know about those. How much am I looking at just for the purchase of a 390?

You are looking at the difference between a small block and a big block. Why have you chosen the big block?

I'm a power junkie. I know the difference engine wise. I was talking about the difference price wise.

Can't go wrong with fast backs. I am restoring a 69 with a 428. I decided to go with the engine that came with it and installed edelbrock head and intake also comp cam. Now that I look back part of me wishes I went the Restro route and updated the drive train with a crate engine and modern trans. I would have probably done that if wasn't a 428. Restromods have become very big and you can get some big buck if it is done right. And at the very least break even.

Good Luck, Joe
