Default some progress today

Installed a tach today so i could see what my tranny is shifting at. bought a cheap one until i redo all my gauges then ill buy a nice one to match. Drove the car today and it was shifting at about 3600-3800 at WOT. and thats after getting the shift linkage pretty tight. any suggestions?had some problems with tires and suspension but ill talk about that in another post.

is it shifting too soon for your liking or not soon enough? either way the adjustment is to pull the vacuum line at the trans and then use a screw driver on the screw inside the connection.

Oh I assumed it was for a C4, with an AOD it is done with the cable but it needs to be done using an oil pressure gage to get the proper setting, or you can burn up the AOD

On a C4, if memory serves you screw it in but don't quote me on that

AODs are wonderful transmission, when adjusted properly but easy to rune when not adjusted properly. Unlike the FMX C4 and C6 the AOD needs specific oil pressures at various input RPMs so the TV cable needs to be set properly so that it does do what it is designed to and to keep from burning it up. I herd of one guy who had his set wrong and burned it out well the car was still on the lift.

here is a link on how to set one correctly
