Default Blower decision

I am having a problem deciding on which supercharger to go with. I can get a complete used Novi 2000 for my 347 for $1700. Or, I can order a Weiand 174 roots style brand new from summit. I like the polished unit and they run around $2600. I know the Paxton is more efficient but I like the looks of the old school blower. What to do.

i have a novi 1200 on my 07. the boost builds gradually (centri style charger) if i were you, i would go roots. you punch it you get full boost right then. get some good tires, youll be shreddin rubber, but if you get a good set up and can hook the roots will rock your world.

I have to go for the roots as well, I will admit that my decission is based more upon looks and tradition than for any other reason.

I think a lot of my position has to do with the fact that I grew up in the 70s and 80s, admiring those BA looking blowers coming through the hood, there is nothing like it period...

With a traditional blower, you have a bad looking car and everyone who sees it knows it is BA.

If (hopefully When) I go with forced induction on a project, my blower will be sitting dead center on top of a V-8....

If you are going tospend the bucks, make sure you get what you really want....

I like the look of stealth power. A blower under a stock hood is way cool in my book. Perhaps that is because I have a Vortech V2 on my EFI 68 stang. I am told it should put out about 450 rwhp after I have a custom chip and dyno tune.
