Default donor cars?

Can Anyone tell me what would be the best donor car for my 1970 Mustang, I mean disc brakes, master cylinder, lines Etc..
I know 76-80 Mercury Monarch, Ford Granada, and Lincoln Versailles are the cars I'm looking for.
Will Mavericks/Mustang II's or anything else work?
Also is there a difference in the disc diameter for v-8 cars versus i-6 cars?
Will 1980-82 also work?
Thanks

The best donor car is another 1970 Mustang with front disc brakes. From there, 69-73 spindles are good choices. Check out www.discbrakeswap.com for an affordable alternative.

Obviously the best donor would be another 70 with disc brakes that are in great shape. After that I would suggest going to a granada setup or to www.discbrakeswap.com as JamesW suggested!![8D]

I am looking to upgrade my Brakes/Master Cylinder/Proportioning valve/ETC... I was kind of wondering what car would be the "best to buy", That I could get the most parts per dollar type thing. My VIN#.0F01F114### Says it is a V-8 Car (302) But it has drum brakes in the front. I thought all Mustangs in 1970 with V-8's had disc fronts.
Thanks for the help.
My car just got painted today,
It still needs more clear and finish sanding.

Myfirst 70 FB had a 302 and drum brakes all around, but the one I have now has front disks and a 351W. Your car is looking verygood. Only thing I don't care for is the hood. I just prefer the stock with CJ scoop, butoverall very verynice. What made you go with the cowl induction??

I still have the "Stock" hood with a CJ hood scoop I installed on it (but did not cut the hood) I am getting that painted aswell and may someday put it back on it.
I just wanted to stay away from the "I have a 1970 Mustang Just like everyone else type thing".
I like the looks and the fit of the cowl hood.
Oh yeah, I am putting Gun Metal Grey racing stripes on it aswell.

Not that they are very common but on my first 67 Mustang I put the spindles from a 70 Mercury Montego (Torino). I bought it for $50 minus engine but it had disc brakes and a 9" rear. They bolted right on. The Mustang II spindles will actually bolt on to the upper and lower control arms but they had the rack in the front (as opposed to the classics steer from the rear) so the stock steering geometry, drag link, etc.will not work with them. Theyalso have a smaller rotor and 4 lugs. Granada rotors will fit but you need to use a Malibu caliper. Too complicated to be worth it but It has been done before the days of all these kits.
Granada and Mavs are pretty much the same and most late model Mav's had 5 lugs even with a 6 banger.
I have the Granada spindles on my current 67.
BTW, the car looks sweet! Another cool coupe!

Malibu caliper? Haven't heard that before. I used the stock Granada/Monarch calipers & tie rod ends along with a F150 master cylinder on my fastback.
