Default Power Steering Help!!!

I just re did my power steering system on my 67 coupe. Hoses/ps pump/ps control valve/shock looking thing p/s ram. Since I have had the car my p/s had always leaked out and never seemed to work properly. Now everything is NEW!!!

Itsgreat now that I have it. Its not like driving a TANK any more. My only question is:

When I am at idle, and trying to reverse or turn slow its almost like something is sticking for a sec. You can feel it in the steering and hear the pump working then it goes away. I know its a 67 but is this normal? Normal driving and cornering everything works great. Again I really never had working power steering in this car so im just not sure whats right or wrong.

Im thinking its the p/sram not worked in (the shock looking thing) still maybe a little stiff?
