to swap my 289 for a 351? or would i be better off saving a few thousand for the motor and putting it into the 289. i really have no idea what would be better in the end. any advice?

Windsor has more parts clevland u can make into a boss. If its a W go for it there great engines. For some reason C arnt my type. And also depends on what you want to acheive. Do you want a beast or just a street car. or a daily?

What does your budget look like? That will play a very big role in this decision. If you have the cash, swing towards the 351.

The 351 is relatively easy power and torque, stroker kits are cheap enough, other aftermarket parts are priced about the same for each engine, and the 351 will take more abuse (power) due to their bigger cranks and stronger stock blocks. Disregarding the fact that you probably won't need to buy a core for the 289, the build costs of eachengine will bevery similar.

On the other hand, you already have a 289, a 289 will fit better between the shock towers, and the ability to build a reasonably priced high reving motor with good power has its appeal.

My opinion is that if you are looking to exceed 425 HP, go with the 351, if not stay with the 289.

I'm looking at this option myself. Just bought a 67 coupe for the wife with 298 (rebuilt 1 year ago) but she wants a 351W in it. I'll likely keep the 289 for the next year or so simply because of the expenses in the initial restomod its gonna get. It'll be a year round daily driver for her so she really doesn't need the extra power anyways.
