We cut almost 1 inch off of the opening bottom and maybe a 1/4 inch off the sides of the opening.

Next- Paint job, Aftermarket gauges, rims, and lower it.

to me that mod is not worth the effort for the hole in your valance look. You did a great job though, sounds like some hard work.

its more than just a look it doubles the surface area available for cooling and my valence also provides a spot to add cooling to the front brakes

I'm surprised of the nice fit. You and your dad did a great job! Oh, I have a question. Does the big bad wolf live in your area?

Looks nice! I have the same type of valence for my '65. What material are you going to use to mold the edges in,or are you going to seal the seam and paint?

i dont suggest that then you can really remove a fender if need be plus it will crack over time i molded the rear cap on my shelby spoiler on it will crack eventually but it will be year its not as stressed as a fender

Looks nice. Fiberglass is almost always a pain. The extra opening like rmodle65 said will make a difference in the cooling of the engine. Hopefully the deck lid and caps will not too big of an issue and the paint will come quick.
