Went from a Holley 750 cfm to a 650 cfm. More low end power. With all my mods could never go with a 2 bbl carb. The only way I would go with a 2 bbl is if it was a factory original car.
4bbl 570cfm. 2bbls can make plenty of power, they have large 2v carbs for 2v race classes, but the mileage in a street car would suck with a large 2v carb. I still don't understand why people think they need a larger carb to make more power.
my car had a very worn but once hot 289 with a 780DP holley on it. Needless to say it was drowning.
now the mild 302 has a 600 vac sec Holley, which works ok, but has a slight hesitation on initial acceleration. one day i will get round to dynoing it to make sure jets and power valves etc are all suited to that engine.
