performance upgrades?
what are some good bolt on/ performance parts/upgrades to consider. this is what i have already... 67 mustang, 68 302 J code engine. traction bars, performer rpm intake, holley 600 cfm carb. electronic ignition, lower gears in the rear.
How much money are you looking to spend? Headers would be a good start (an exhaust port-match would be a good idea at that time), and you'd probably see a big gain from a mild cam to match your intake and carb.
Suspension wise, do the Shelby drop. Aside from the drill bit and possibly a template, it's free, and it will drastically improve your car's handling. An export brace is pretty much a mandatory upgrade for how cheap they are, and a monte carlo bar wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Good advice from all. Cam, rocker arms, differnet carbs, different intakes, headers, dual exhaust with an H pipe, higher stall torque converter, trans shift kit, AOD trans, T5( if manual) limited slip differential, tires all can be easily bolted on.
If you are not worried about orginality, I am a big fan of MSD ignition and Dizzys. That is pretty much bolt on or rather wire on. I also am a big fan of limited slip rear ends. I hate a slippy rears!
I don't see any reason to put an MSD distributor on that motor. Don't get me wrong, I have one and love it, but there's not going to be any really noticable performance gain out of it for him, and they're rather expensive. Money better spent on other things. Nothing wrong at all with the factory distributor with an electronic ignition module.

Your collectors off the headers are problably 2 1/2" so I would atleast change the pipe from the collector to the muflers to the same size and add a cross tube in (H-pipe).....
