What about width issues?did you shorten it or are you running a custom offset wheel?

yeah, i was wodering the same thing. what did you get your axle out of? did you have to make any width modifications or is it about the same width as your factory one? ive considered this as well b/c i consider the 8.8 to be slightly stronger than an 8 inch, and aftermarket parts are WAY cheaper.

i like the idea of the 8.8 i should have picked up one from a lincoln mark7 with the factory disc and 5 lug. then i would have need spacers since i run late model rims. i actually found a rear from a diesel lincoln mark 7 the guy wouldnt come off of it they come with factory 3.73's actually q pretty rare car it was rough

never cut any off of it, came out of a 1989 SSP - FHP Mustang i just cut the spring perches off and measured liike 500 times to get everything right, the offset i have on my wheels gives me enough clearence for no issues. i leveled the car out and stuffed it under there and got the 4 deg on the thing, tacked the new perches on and then bam. drug it back out and welded it all up and slapped it back in there. haven't mounted a wheel yet - since ij ust got the axles in today those go in tomorrow. ill take some pics then of the wheels on the back at least.
