Default Vacuum Lines

Hey folks
I've got 2 lines right now that aren't going anywhere. The first is coming from the front of the Edelbrock Carb. The second is coming from the firewall. Anyone able to tell or better yet show me in a pic where these lines should go? Both are just laying there going nowhere right now. i've looked through the 67 shop manual a couple times now and cant find where these should go. Thanks.

the one from your carb hooks onto your passenger side valve cover, and the other one might be a heater hose? maybe

Hmm ok I think the line from the carb goes onto the port at the back of the left valve cover?

lol thanks 390 I just figured that one out from the above post. If the second one is the heater hose does that go up front to the rad?

Ok HERE is a larger image from a few days ago. It's fairly long however it wouldn't reach the front of the engine. I'll have to get a better shot of it tomorrow. Thanks.

that pictures fine , it looks like your POs disconnected your heater and just connected your water pump and intake together instead of blocking them, so your heater is probably bad, id rebuilt it and might need a new blower motor, im going through the same thing right now.

Yeah.. I'm not too knowledgeable yet on the engine so kind of stumbling around. I need a good book on the small block and 289. The car is going to be striped next month and everything rebuilt including the engine. I'll have the help of my father, friends and others over the next months. I have a lot of learning ahead of me.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, that firewall hose is the heater hose that's supposed to connect to the fitting on the intake. The other one is the PCV valve vacuum line that runs to the PCV valve on the p-side valve cover.
