4 to 5 lug conversion adaptors
they work but some people say they are not safe and it is hard to find a tire shop that will work on your car after you have them on there. im running adapter style spacers on my car in order to fit the late model wheels im running and have not had any issues with them so far. they will also change the offset needed depending on how thick they are so keep that in mind when shopping for new wheels.
What i have seen hard driving hard braking and hard cornering can and will sheer your lugs off so you can lose a wheel thats never good. The kids here like the 13 inch wire rims and they use spacers so they stick out about a foot or two and wonder why there ball joints bust lol.Just the way i look at it most wheel companys will make you rims in any back spacing and lug pattern its not cheap but work it to me.Also something to think about the heavier the wheel the bigger brakes are needed to stop that rotating mass do you trust your small drums to stop a 17 inch rim.

If the classic cragar came as say 14x7 with 4.25 inch backspacing and you add a 1 inch think adaptor so you can go from 4 to 5 lug, to get the a 14x7 wheel to fit the same way it will need 5.25 inch backspacing.
