Default Can this be adjusted?

I have a hurst shifter for a 65, 4spd car. I am in the process of installing it...IF the shift lever hits the back of the floor opening, can it be adjusted forward? I may be getting ahead of myself, but if I'm under the car...I might as well understand how the damn thing works in case I need to adjust it...Thanks guys!

I had to cut out for mine on my 66.
mine was a competition plus trans is a toploader.
Hated doing it but just notched it out.
LOL now I have to cut the front a small bit for the TKO 5 speed

Anything can be adjusted if you use enough force.

Adjusting a Hurst can be tricky, I'd call Mark @ Toploader Heaven, he's extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.
