theres a woman here who has a 65 that runs 12s in hers. stock bottom end 92 5.0 block with performer rpm heads, roller rockers, some nasty cam, 9" rear, single plane intake, 700cfm carb , few little things like suspension and tires.. she belted out a 12.6 against me the other night and a 11.3 on a 150 shot.

I went low 13's in a 67 with a crappy tune and crappy 60'. Does that count?

Considering a stock 289/302 block in good shape will take about 500-550hp if TUNED WELL, you don't need to worry about breaking the stock block trying to run 13's. Unless you have a bad tune and blow it up, or can't drive for crap and go 13's on a 700hp engine.
