Can someone help me
I am trying to get in to a mustang. This will be my 1st mustang. it is a 1965 Coupe A- code I believe with a 289 and automatic. It is not perfect. It has a number of spots and scratches in it's origional paint that have what appearts to be minor rust in them. It seems to need some front end work. It runs good. It also needs some upholstery work as well as a new dash as the origional has a crack. 67,287 or 167,287 miles I am not sure.
Can someone tell me what a reasonable price for this car would be???

If it has an "A" code engine it will have a 4 barrel carb on it. Nice engine. Paint and interior wii cost you about 5 grand. There's no telling what the front suspension is going to run you without knowing what needs replacing.

Fireman, I had a minimum amount of rust on my 65 when I bought it. It is a west Texas car. I didn't have to replace any fenders or panels. Instead, the shop cut out the rusted metal and replaced with new metal patches. However, they took the fenders, doors and trunk lid off when they prepped and painted it. The cost to me was $5,000. Now, I know there are shops that will do the job for less money, but I will never have to do mine again, because it was done right the first time. You pay for what you get with a paint job. Believe me, it is a whole lot more than just paint.
Hello again,
I got my mustang. It was actually a 66' with 289. It is straight as can be and the area's of rust are only surface. I got it for 3,500 I found paper work in the dash from a 1999 sale of the car from a classic ecar lot for 4,500 and another reciept from a year ago of a 1,400 tranny rebuild. So I don't think I did too bad for my 1st.
