Default gas tank problems

has anyone else had problems with their tanks leaking badly. i filled my mustang up with the whole 16 gallons about a week and a half ago, and the only place i have driven it is down the street to go back to my house. but the tank is now only half full and i could see a bunch of gas in the snow underneath the car. is there anything i can do to the tank, or would it be a better route to get a whole new tank and just replace it?

that is a pretty hefty safety concern. i would get a new tank... maybe find a used racing fuel cell since you are replacing the tank anyways.

i thought about a cell, but i have my battery, power amp, and two subs with a box in my trunk, would it be alright to put a cell in there anyway?

are you wondering if it would be safe or if it would fit. safety- of course. those tanks are meant to be smashed and not spill gas. as far as it fitting goes, you would have to measure and figure it out. if the amp, battery, and subs are not on top of the tank now then one should fit.

if its just a DD and not a track car, i wouldnt worry about a cell. just get a kit from mustangsunlimited.com

http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=CA92K+01

not sure if its the right year but there all about the same price for the premium kit

have you checked all the fuel lines/hoses for leaks? seems like you'd want to do that before ordering a whole new tank

how much was the year one tank? i find year one stuff is a lot more expensive than mustangs unlimited. they seem to have good prices and quality stuff although i have not ordered much from them, i have heard they are good. i have also heard dont order their exhaust, but thats all i have heard not to order
