Default Solution for headers on GT40P

well, as we all know you're kinda limited on headers for GT40P's and since i didn't want to go with shortys or the custom made route for $$$$ i picked up a cheap set of tri y's (80 bux) and went to cutting.. since the passenger side fits fine only the drivers had to be modified.

and heres what i came up with..

as you can see its somewhat "prototye" i'll be going back to fix the 2nd one to give it a better angle where it connects to the rest of them - also the only other modification needed was to grind the nub off the block above the oil filter and everything fits perfectly. all bolts go in correctly as well as being able to remove the spark plugs without having to remove the header.

hehe :-) nice one. you're one of those people who seem to have fun with a welding machine. looks like you even made your own stool instead of buying one ...

I'd be concerned with that #6 pipe hitting the shock tower. Other than that, good job. Definitely cheaper than buying a set of FPA's

I haven't got that far yet, I was told the FMS headers would work, but they are about $240 bucks. Looks like you saved some money!

oh it clears greatly had the dummy block in the car with it on and theres like 1" of space - they are in the same position as the original somewhat other than i just made them go straigh down instead of an angle so they both go in at almost the same spot as the Y portion did.
