Default Under drive pulleys

I am still tinkering with my heating situation and thinking about underdrive pulleys that I have fitted to my 302W. These pulleys obviously turn the water pump a little slower perhaps causing overheating? I have bought an Eddlebrock high performance pump that is supposed to pump water faster at lower revs. Will the fitting of that rectify or at least help the issue of the underdrive pulleys. Just throwing ideas to the wind. I don't want to replace these pulleys if I can avoid it.

It may help. I'm running a Milodon high volume water pump with underdrive pullies, and idling in Bakersfield traffic in the summer at 110* F with a 3 core copper/brass radiator, it doesn't overheat. Doesn't overheat under power either. Are you sure your fan and radiator are good? And if you're using a fan clutch, check that as well.

Good old Bakersfield, CA. Full of lifted trucks, gun owners, and you needn't go more than about 5 miles outside the city limits to find either grazing cattle or dairies. Foggy like mad in the winter, hot n dry in the summer. Oh, and the roads really suck.

Bwuahahaha!!!! It's pretty true too. Of course, they have no video of downtown, or the rest of the city, some of which is quite nice. And some of the newer developments in the northwest and southwest are like freakin Beverly Hills. Bakersfield looks funny from the sky too, like a sprawling metropolitan area of 780,000 people dropped right in the middle of corn fields and dairy farms. And it does smell in some parts of the city.[&:]

Got electric fan and new aluminium radiator. What temp are you idling at with the high volume water pump on.

Stays at 195, sometimes might go up to like 200-210 if I sit in traffic for a really long time, but never over that. If you wanna be really slick, you could spend the dough on an electric water pump. With the static flow, they provide more flow at idle than any mechanical pump ever could. But they're pricey.

Too much bling for my liking, stick to traditional stuff.

i thought that underdrive pulleys increased the pump speed? i also noted that my temps started running a little higher after install of alum. intake... mine (65 289) is always in the 210-220 range...but then again i have a 302 i'm dying to install when this one gives up.....
