Default **BENCH TEST**

how can i bench test my gauge cluster to install my new led bulbs. i just bought a new circut board and im going to install that also but i want to bench test it so i dont have to keep pulling the cluster in and out of the car. also what should i do to restore it? is there somekind of lense polisher i can buy for the plastic lense. do they sell spedo needal paint

Take your battery out and just hook wires to the appropriate terminals to "bench test" electrical items. For the needle I just used some red paint I had laying around. I've heard Testors model paint works well too. You can try to polish the lens, but new ones are pretty cheap, at least for a '66.

Agree with you Axeman. 70 Coupe, just be carefull to observe proper polarities (hot to hot ; ground to ground). Also just buy a new lense, they're cheap and it is less hastle than trying to polish the old one out.

ok cool. so how do i bench test it without having to asemble everything back and forth. last time i did this about 5 times with the old circut board and the lights were dim and finally it blew. it was sad. so 60 bucks later im doing it again, but i wanna take my time and do it right this time

Which lights are you trying to test ? the general illumination lamps or gauge replacement lamps?
