RE: **BENCH TEST**
Take your battery out and just hook wires to the appropriate terminals to "bench test" electrical items. For the needle I just used some red paint I had laying around. I've heard Testors model paint works well too. You can try to polish the lens, but new ones are pretty cheap, at least for a '66.
Good luck.

Agree with you Axeman. 70 Coupe, just be carefull to observe proper polarities (hot to hot ; ground to ground). Also just buy a new lense, they're cheap and it is less hastle than trying to polish the old one out.

ok cool. so how do i bench test it without having to asemble everything back and forth. last time i did this about 5 times with the old circut board and the lights were dim and finally it blew. it was sad. so 60 bucks later im doing it again, but i wanna take my time and do it right this time
