I'm surprised no one has asked the question yet...have you actually paid for this engine yet or just a deposit?

My engine compartment is painted like that and I thought the blue and chrome looked rather nice..

 

I think you should paint it orange to match the car, so it stands out in the engine compartment more. Anyway, no biggy, just tape it off and cut along the edges with a razor(so it doesn't look like crap) and paint it whatever color you want.

 

you have a right to be super ****... you paid for something and didnt get what you wanted. I agree with the other poster though if the block was painted black it would get lost in the engine compartment.. all you would notice is the shiny stuff. if it was painted orange to match the paint it would look amazing. with the block blue and silver like that its gonna look out of place. I have that color scheme but my car is blue.

id call him or email and say the same thing. you must have taken a picture of the wrong engine. id also let him know how excited you are to post pictures of your car here on theVMF once the engine is back in and give him credit for the quality of the black paint job on the block.
I bet the guy will make some attempt at making it right,but you never know..

 

by the way i like **** people.. you should see how **** i am when it comes to doing landscape designs and drawings.

 

you had enough faith in the shop to seek them out and pay in full for your job right? have enough faith that they will make it right until they prove you wrong. as others have said..a stand-up shop will do what it takes to make it right. good luck.

 

I vote for orange ( who said we can vote........... ). Anyway, I had a similar experience with a supplier,
but not over color. Try communicating with them camly, as it may be an honest mistake that they are
happy to correct. If that is not the case, just make sure we all know who they are so we do not give them
our business.........................

If you ask them to paint it orange they'll prolly do it gladly, to get some Chevy Orange paint off the shelf. They prolly have tons of that stuff sitting around.

 

guys thank you for your repsonses, problem is NON of you read the first post,...the car is NOT ORANGE, it is currently being stripped to metal and prepped for paint, its goin to be BLACK>>not orange...BLACK

i wanted to pop the hood and see chrome...like a diamond in a box...i have lots of chrome going on that engine and blue aint gona fly...

i am still wiating to hear back from the engine builder,...i have not slept a single minute last night
