I say you blow it up before you make it to the track. Just kidding. Congrats on getting her going.

The most frustrating thing about it is I will likely only get one shot at it. If I run faster than 13.49 I will have to add a rollbar and I don't want to do that. Maybe I just need to buy one of those hand held things that measure g force, speed, 1/4, 0-60 ....... At least it would give me an idea. Of course I would do it on a track.

Are you serious? I went low 13's shifting early, launching like a wuss and with a weak tune. That's on a n/a 302, and the OP is running a blown 302 with about 100rwhp more. If I had his engine and didn't break mid 12's I'd shoot myself for bad driving.

And yes, 13.49 is rollbar for a vert, 11.49 for a coupe iirc, maybe 11.99? Those are NHRA rules though, so the track may or may not enforce them. NHRA compliant tracks > not NHRA compliant tracks.

13.2-13-6 @ 90 mph coasting through the traps after 3rd gear breaks

nice numbers, what blower did you go with and what is your AFR at peak HP?

I went with a Vortech V2 SQ. It made that power at 5200 rpm and then they quite running it. The AFR was about 12.2 at that time.

It doesnt matter what you went.Horsepower doesnt mean your doing to run a quick et.It depends on how the car is set up and driving. He's not going to be shifting hard becasue thetransmeaning losing some time, street tires, not a good launch and also maybe not much seat time.

My buddies 99 GT has 400RWHP and ran 10.90's.Does that mean this vert will run the same??..no way

My other buddy has a 2000 GT with 518 RWHP and couldnt getbetter then a 12.01.Theres more variables then just having XX amount of HP.

Yeah, with that much HP it will be hard, maybe a little dangerous to try driving with street tires.0-60 will be like your on ice.

Good thing I grew up in Alaska and know how to drive on ice.

I agree with these guys though. I am not willing to blow my car up just to get another 1/2 second in the quarter. I think I know where the weak points in my drive train are but I don't really want to find out. It gets pretty expensive very quickly when things start going boom. I would still be happy with anything in the 12's. Heck, that is faster than 99.9% of the cars that actually drive on the street and I intend to do a lot of driving on the street.

Thanks for the input guys. I just find topics like this interesting and bring up some good debate.
