Seat mounts...
I just spent an hour trying to get the driver side seat in and it is NOT going. I can get 2 boltsin and then the other 2 are way off. Is it possible toslide theboltsaroundor are they in a fixed position? I even pulled the carpet back so I had easy access, just to see if I could get it to fit, and I still couldn't...
can you get the fron bolts in or the back? i had the same problem, i had to put the back in first then i had too wriggle my front bolts untill they fell into place, i also had my brother hold it up when i went under too bolt them in
The 67 seat bolts should drop through fairly easy. I've had mine in and out 3 or 4 times over the last month. Are they bent in anyway? Have you taken the rails off to see if each rail properly fits in the hols? Whats 'way off'.. 1/2", 1", 3"? I'd say the bolts or rails are slightlytwisted if its within an inch or so. Any more than that I'd say the seat frame may be damaged. Have you inspected those?
The bolts are fixed in the rails and as far as I know cannot be removed. The rails however can be removed from the seat bottom.

I can get the back 2, but then not the front 2. Or, the left 2, but then not the right 2. I'm gonna fiddle with it again in the morning, I was too tired to keep screwin with it...
Seats are in great shape. If the frame is damaged or not, i dunno, but i expect not...

I would guess that your seat tracks are at different settings. Assuming your 67 is like my 66 seats, and the 69 seats I have in it, there are the 2 sliding seat tracks on the bottom that could have been bumped to different settings while they were out of your car. Try lining them up in a perfect rectangle by putting them all the way to the front or all the way to the back and then check it with a square or a level or something. Be careful tho, cuz those springs can shoot those tracks pretty quick when they arent moving any weight.
Ok, I've been fiddling with it and pretty confused now. I went ahead and removed the backrest half of the seat so I could handle the bottom half of it better and stop running the top into the steering column. I managed to get 3 of the bolts in, but the front left is no where close. I'll put a picture up if need be, but the bolt is about half an inch too far to the left of the hole. How do I get the front of that railing to move to the right far enough for me to force it in the hole?
And if it matters any, it appears that the seats are '66, according to the tag on the bottom

Lol, I got it guys! I dunno what was wrong...I slide the seat back all the way so I could see the front holes better and the seat literally fell in place by itself. I would think that the railings would be straight no matter what setting the seat is at, but apparently not. Thanks all!
On the next one, if you can get the back two in (seat tilted back and holes pre cut), then you can pull and hold the adjustment lever and move the front from side to side and it will usually drop in. Turn loose and wiggle once again, and that will usually lock the seat tracks in the right notches. Don't forget the spacers.
