I have a question about seat belts. My 66 has lap belts in the whole car. I have been thinking about doing the shoulder belts for the front at some point, but we'll see. My question is I have my kids in the back. They are young enough now that I put them in shoulder harness car seats. Are there seat belt conversions for the back that dont involve cutting up the car? Or, do they make some kind of seat for the kids, when they get older that allows you to use the lap belts, and have a harness on the seat. Thanks.

 

If you do any seat belt conversion, lap to 3pt, there is some mods required to mount them properly. I don't know what all is available, but I think 3 pt seat belts up front are necessary. I doubt there are any seat belts just for kids, at least for the classics anyways. Are you familiar with all the mustang supply shops around the net? Search the different ones and other part stores for seat belts that will work for you. You can do 3pt in the back and they probably have adjusters on them for different size people.

 

I have seen 3 point setups in the back where the third mounting point is behind the seat back, so the hole wont be visible.

 

Thats what I was hoping for, is something I can mount that wont be seen. Nineteen66, dont you have front belts that mount in the door jam?

 

Yes, I have the 3 points in the front that go from the floor to the rear interior quarter panel and then over your shoulder.

 

Go to www.gotbelts.com they have some good aftermarket belts for a good price and you can order them how ever you want..

 

just put 5-points everywhere
