Default WTH THE CAR WONT START!

so i cleaned it up today and took it around the block pulled it back into the garage and went inside. I came out started it back up then turned it off because my girlfriend was talking to me and i couldnt hear her. so once she went back inside the house i went tostart it up one more time and nothing happened. it wouldnt start nor would it even try to turn over. I have checked my battery and everything works fine. I checked all the battery cables. I checked my shifter to make sure it was in park and took it apart to make sure it wasnt a faulty wire in the park sensor thingy in the shifter. I cant figure this out! It makes no sence that it started right before then and then it just did nothing.
Any suggestions? The car show is tomorrow and i had it all ready to show and go and now it wont go! [:@]
thanks

Could be the solenoid, some times they just go out like that. Probably not the prefered method but I used to check it by arching it with a insulated screwdriver, with the key in the on position, if it turns over that is your problem

+1

I had to do that when I bought 66. Chances are it is your solenoid, but if its not that, then it will be your starter. 99% chance is that its your solenoid from what I understand.

Take a screwdriver handle and whack it 6 or 7 times, then try it.

Check your ground also.
That one bit me a few months ago same symptoms. I had a bad engine ground strap on a 66.

hmm ok cool. well hopefully its nothin too big of a problem. if it is the soleniod what is a good brand to buy for it. doesnt msd sell all that kind of stuff? it might be worth converting to.

so ill try tomorrow doing the screwdriver method then if that doesnt work ill wack the solenoid a few times

thanks!
