Default AOD shift lever rod

Putting my stang together and ran into a problem with the AOD shift lever rod "parked" on the Hooker Super Comp Header Collector. I was using Heddman headers before with the AOD and had no cleareance problem. I am also using a B&M Mega shifter. Has anyone ran into this problem and what was your solution?

Your headers must be expecting a petite C4, and not your fat AOD. I installed an AOD a few years ago and had to have a new H pipe created, up to the exhaust manifolds. I reckon you should determine if the linkage can be bent to clear the headers, or if the headers can be dimpled (ball peen hammer for instance) to clear the linkage. Maybe email a few header companies to see if they make a product to fit what you have. Yeah, that linkage is a headache for sure. There must be several people here who are using headers with a AOD.
