Without knowing your exact cam selection, I can't really recommend, but I will tell you what we did with my sons truck for your comparison...

http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Se...umber=08-432-8

He has a 350 Chevy in his truck with this cam, we installed a 2,500 stall converter, but I wish we would have installed a 3,000...

The two cams are reasonably close in specs with the one in my son's truck being probably a little warmer. In my opinion, the truck exhibitsexcellent street manners...

In fact, I consider the drivability much better than when the truck had the mild performance ZZ4 cam and stock converter..

Never used the product but this does an adequate job of discussing how to determine the correct stall speed:

When I had my tranny built, pic'd up a new converter. Stock motor, stock stall converter, nothing fancy. I spoke in detail with the builder for a futureconverter for a 331 or 347, and he recommended a 2400-2600 stall if you havea reasonable motor, 300-350 hp to back it. Special note. . .you mustconsider your rearend gears and RPM at freeway speed, and AVOID aconverter that stalls at the similarRPM as your freeway speed. You'll overheat your converter, money down the drain.
