Default i took out my engine today :(

i took out my engine today and i think i have an early bell housing on my block.
is there anyway to really make sure?
i have all the t-5 conversion parts and now i have to deal with a new issue :/
can i still do the conversion with the parts i have?
im using the late model bell housing.
any help would be great

early blocks had 5 bolt hole for the trans. and all others have 6 bolt holes. I think I've seen kits to use stock belhouseings with the t-5 at mustang unlimited. I haven't had a catolog from them in like 7 years though. I usally find what I need cheaper at other places.

so does this mean i need to buy an early 4-speed 5 bolt bell housing and use an adapter plate?

or can i use my original automatic bell housing and just buy the adapter plate?

where the heck am i going to find that!
this sucks man the previous owner had the engine rebuilt 15,000 miles ago and runs strong!
i hope theres another solution

automatic and manual bellhousings are very differant and are not interchangeable.

if you find a bell housing, i will sell you the adapter plate and hardware i have for the swap,

i got a t5 bell and am going hydrolic now
