Default 200 six or 289

I just picked up a 1967 stang, it has a 200 inline six out of a 70 maverick. and a C4 tranny. the car has been sitting for 10 years but is very straight and clean. my question is on the the motor swap, will any early inline six be a dirrect bolt in? and if I wanted to go with a 289 or 302 would I need a bigger radiator? is the bell housing the same on the tranny.any help would be helpful thank you

I'm not sure about the bellhousing or the radiator, but there should be a ton of suspension upgrades that you'llneed to do if you're going from an I6 to a V8.

Check the FAQ for a listing of parts required,, the description given is kind of negative and bleak IMO,, but the info is mostly good...

I am of the opinion that a good clean I-6 car is a very viable candidate for a swap...

It can be expensive, but it is not hard...

the radiator is the least of your worries in a swap like this,...............
here is an auction on ebay, that would help you out a lot.

you can probably get by using the same radiator, but your suspension needs to be upgraded, which includes brakes, etc, and rear end too. there's a lot more to it then just picking out the old 6, and dropping in the "new" 8.........
i dont know if the c4's are the same, but i would image they are different. there are plenty of the v8 c4's around. also, with gas going up to $4 a gallon,..........you are looking at 28 mpg vs. 14, if you stay out of your 4 barrel.
the dvd on ebay is a great way to see what you are wanting to get into, he's got a couple of them i am interested in buying too, thought it was a cool way to find out alot of info.
hope that helps ya!
