Art, I know how you feel. Give me another 20,000$ and I might have my car running..its depressing. Im a poor college student lacking the funds to fullyparticipate in my hobby.

OK, everybody with enough money to feed their classic Mustang, line up on this side of the room and everybody without enough money line up on the other side. Wait a minute...what's everybody doing on this side of the room?

I didn't take many pics of when I first got her. Imagine oxidized paint, a non-matching passenger fender. Original tired stock or cheap replacement everything under the car and under the hood. I took her from that to what you see in the wreck pics from 1999.

To this in 2000 (got a trophy for 'Best Female Owned' at a different car show than pictured.)

And I did it while working and going to college... and I'm just a little girl.

It just takes time. I used to buy engines part by part over time. Each thing that broke, I replaced with a better part when I could afford it. If I couldn't, oh well, as long as I took care of the car, she took care of me. Yeah, it's a big job, but seriously does anyone ever have a car that's "done"?

I've had my fastback for 15 years. She's been many things over that time, but she's never been done. Priority one was running, driving and stopping. Anything beyond those features was icing on the cake. It's all in your approach to the project. If you see it as a big job, it'll eat you alive. See it as a challenge or a long term fun time and the car will be awesome when you're "done" with it.

OK, the guys on the right are HARD CORE Mustangers. They're actually checking out the CAR! Seriously, nice job. What does that to a front fender. Looks like someone tried to pick it up with a log loader.

LOL Thanks!

I was T-boned by a Honda running a red light doing about 40 (the passenger side damage) and pushed into a full size pickup truck. The bumper hit the truck as the front wheel caught on the truck's front wheel, ripping so hard the tie rod end broke on that side as I struggled to try not to hit the car sitting behind the truck, but the steering wheel was completely useless at that point. I had to tow the car to a shop to replace the tie-rod so I could limp the car back to my apartment.

That was a bad day, but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. Getting the car back together and on the path to what she's become today was totally worth the anguish.
