clean as a whistle. tiny blips of brown on some of em, the previous ones were dark as hell. ill get pics up tomorrow morning since it's dark out now and about to rain. :|
that sounds just perfect.
you said they're new so I don't expect them to change color anytime soon. as posted above:
foxish red/brown is good. black is rich, and white deposits are lean

i belive they're running good. drive another week and recheck. slight brown then would sound good to me

Yeah, slight brow or reddish(from modern fuel additives).

They could be just a tad hot also. What range plug are you running (45) you may want to go down a step. If you can get to a dyno and do a runyou cansee what your AF ratio really is. There may be no problem at all. Are you running a high output coiland that's the reason you opened up the gap?

got a blaster 2 coil on it with the stock autolite 764 plugs for the p's which is also why it's at .045

That coil's designed for 12V...are you feeding it full 12V? This would requirebypassing the resistor wirecoming out of the back of the ignition switch. You don't really have to, but it's a really good idea, especially if you're out at a .045" gap.

was using a stock coil with it before i swapped over to the blaster, driven over 100 miles today with no problems with it. as i see it, there is no resistor or anything in this car as it was using a high voltage coil and pertronix ignitor when i bought it. so it's getting the full voltage. i'm guessing everything in the car is fine, theres never been any pinging or anything so i'm guessing it's just that efficient now. before when it was out of tune it was horrible and stunk to high heaven.

If you haven't altered it, it's not getting 12V. The pink wire coming out of the back of the ignition switch is the resistor, there is no separate ballast resistor like other vehicles. It'll probably run ok off the factory 6-8V, but you'll get a lot better spark with a full 12V.

That's why MSD boxes run their power wire off the + battery terminal. Constant 12v hot, circuit only closes when the ignition is on and the ground closes in the box. Less voltage into the coil means less voltage out of the coil, means possibly weaker spark.
