Well my brother and I were driving around after the u-joints were fixed and all of a suddend we hear
a loud BANG! We knew something went wrong. The rear gear was all messed up. The nice thing about
breaking things is that you get to upgrade!! My brother is going with a 3.55 Richmond gear with a posi differential
with it all going in a 9inch rear. Below are the picturs of the damage. The 03 is my mustang. The v8 289 is
stronger than we thought.....actually the rear gear was off and it was eventuallly going to go. I have to admit when
my brother and I go driving around town EVERYONE loves the classic more than any newer mustang. I cant hate the classics
are the best!!!

+1 on a Tru-Trac over a clutch type LSD.

All the sudden BANG!
Are you sure you weren't in the midst of a huge burnout?

I love destruction. You have the right attitude though.Good luck.

well since your current rear end is 1144

no point in not getting the tru trac if you have the 400.00 for it.
I really like mine its so smooth yet will put even power to both wheels no problem nice equal stripes

Where is your brother getting the 9" axle? I have the original 8" in my '66, but I have a 9" Detroit locker center section that I want to put in it. I need the rest of the 9" that will fit in the early Mustang.
