You guys with the 69's and 70's should start your own club and call it the "It sucks to find parts for these cars club"!! haha

4reboy I just looked for him and they are not to be found. Looks like junk yard or craig's list. You are driving a 69, can you confirm that the quarter extensions are the same for the coupe and convertible? I'm pretty sure they are.
well I have a mach, so the extensions are completely different. However I'm pretty sure the coupe and convertible would be the same, I don't see why it would be different. The only difference on those cars should be the top, so the trunk lid and everything back from where the roof would be should be relatively unchanged.

They don't make repro quarter extensions for 69/70 coupes/converts. We went through this two years ago when we were working on ours. What's worse is that its pot metal so it really can't be repaired.

Your best bet is salvage yard, ideally one that specializes in mustangs. We got ours from Colorado Mustang, you can call Dan at 303-343-7024, it was $150 when we got it two years ago.

Nabster can you confirm that the coupe and converible use the same quarter extensions? Loza doesn't seem to think so.

Yep, couple/convert are the same body style, fastbacks have different lines. You can look at the other years that have the extensions available too, they're sold either as fastback or as coupe/convert.

I thought so. The other question I was wondering was will the 69 and 79 interchange? I was thinking that tail light panel difference would make a difference with the quarter extensions but I was not sure.

I assume you meant will the 70 interchange? I'm not sure on that, but either way, they don't make 69 or 70 coupe/convert extensions, so you're still stuck going to a salvage yard or NOS or something assuming you can find one. Maybe ebay, but personally, that's not the sort of part I'd be buying there.
