Default 67 Fastback front fender question....

hey guys. quick question for you. I have a 67 GT Fastback and I'm looking to replace both front fenders (they currently have some cheap, Taiwanese stamped ones) before I give it a new paint job. My question is regarding original fenders. Were they stamped with "FOMOCO" or "FORD"?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to go with reproduction or the one's that use original OE Ford tooling. Are the the toolings stamped? I know they are lighter b/c of the gauge of metal used, but what other differences are there other than the price?

Thanks for the help in advance!

It should say FoMoCo with some numbers and letters. Most say the oe tooling parts fit better but its sheet metal no matter what you bought sometimes you stilll have to massage it a little.I won't buy anything not american made i don't want my money going over seas.

are you saying the original ford fenders said FoMoCo and had #s, or are you saying the OE tooling ones now should too?

The O.E. tooling ones should fit better than the cheaper ones, but either way, both are reproduction fenders made outside of the US.

You won't find any FORD logo's or PN's on reproduction sheet metal. Ford sold the drawings for the parts to independant manufacturers years ago. These manufacturers then developed the "tools" necessary to make these parts. Some manufacturers didn't buy the drawings and just made replacement parts based upon their assessment of the original parts.

But either way, Ford isn't making the parts, hence no Ford logos on them.

So then you're buying nothing but New Old Stock (NOS) parts? You'll be hard pressed to find many Mustang parts still made here in the US. It's not something we do anymore. "We" search for the lowest bidder and send the order to an overseas facility to have them made.
