OK, probably a question for you concourse judges who may be lurking, but where exactly is the correct spot to put the grille emblem on a 69 or 70 mustang? I saw a 70 on a TV show earlier and they had the thing smack in the center, I know that isn't right; I've seen pictures of different ones on here with it in varying positions as well. As long as we've had our 69 (some 30 years) it's been right where it is now. It wouldn't surprise me to find out it's one of those "It's correct wherever the guy on the assembly line decided to put it" things, but it seems like it should have a certain spot.

To the best of my knowledge your 69 grille emblem is right where it is supposed to be. The 70 emblem was moved to the center of the grille. The 70 grande,coupe and Boss sported the emblem dead center. The 70 Mach 1 does not have the emblem in its grille.

 

yeah your grill looks fine. I've only seen 70's with the meblem in the center or no emblem at all like bodyputtyless said. 69's are always offset to the driverside

EDIT: looking at my sig I think mine is closer to the center than yours, I'm not sure which one is correct, or if there is a "correct" placement. Does anyone know how many "spaces" over in the grill the emblem is placed?

 

Yeah, yours is more toward the center. Like I said, ours has been in the same spot for some 30+ years, so I'd like to think it's in the correct spot. From the light ours is placed on the fourth column including the partial one right next to the light, yours looks like the sixth.

This is why I was wondering, seems there ought to be a correct spot.
