Default Disc Brake Swap Problems, HALP

Well I started to work on the disc brake swap for my 65. I bought the parts from www.discbrakeswap.com. I tried their link to instructions provided and got no dice, and when I emailed them they basically said, "It's easy, don't worry about it, just use the instructions for the granada swap." Well I found out that the granada swap instructions are about as useful as having teeth in your *** hole, so I pray someone else is awake at this hour to aid me.

I can't get the caliper brackets to fit. I'm assumming that the calipers are supposed to go on toward the back of the car, but if I turn them to face out, they hit the rotor and if I turn them in, they hit the metal arm that connects to the steering.
Also, the company saw it fit to grind off the markings on the rotors so I don't know which slotted rotor is the right or left. Do the end of the rotor slots trail or lead as the wheel rotates?

I'll get pictures up of this shenanigans in a minute.
Shenanigan

edit:
How I think it should go

What is happening when I try to put it on

I looked at some pictures, does the caliper go on the front? This is madness!

Alright I'm going to put the danm calipers on the front after looking at this picture on another forum
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...t-close-up.jpg
I hope it doesn't kill me somehow, but I'll bolt it all up and check back before I go to sleep and when I wake up and if I'm doing it *** backwards, I hope someone has spoken up by then. The picture looks like he's putting the rotors on so the end of the slots are the leading edge, and I'm planning on putting mine on so the rotors rotate with the part close to the center being the leading edge. I hope this doesn't end up with me dead somehow, heh.

I don't understand why the hell discbrakeswap.com took down and destroyed their old instructions before they had something to put in its place. Not helpful! And telling me to use granada instructions, all the important directions are different!

Well I tried flipping things and now my splash shield doesn't clear the spindle. Someone who has worked with the kit from discbrakeswap.com please post some pictures for me!

Edit: Actually I was just having a brain fart and it fits well now, but I still feel weird having the caliper on the front instead of the rear.

Here's a link that might give you some idea. (scroll up on the page if you see control arm pop up). Sorry I don't have any personal experience with that yet, but, somebody else will join in soon I imagine.

Also Mustang monthly mag has a lot of information in there tech/how to sections http://www.mustangmonthly.com

Hope this helps a little

Sorry dude, but that geocitioes post wont help you any. Those are actual 70-73 spindles (same as grananda spindles) and were designed to have disc brakes on them already. So... looking at them will be no help at all.

Honestly, it won't hurt to have the calipers on the front. Just make sure you have the bleeder valves on top. A lot of late model cars have calipers on front, so don't worry about that. I think people just prefer to put them on the back because it looks better. As far as the dust shield goes, you don't need that either. You can leave them off, and it will in no way effect how well your brakes work. If anything, it will just allow them to run slightly cooler (which is good). If it makes you feel any better, I don't have them on my car, and my boss doesn't have them on his, and we have never ever had any problems.

+1. My calipers are towards the front end of the car and the bleeder sticks straight up...

Not sure with your setup, but the Baer setup I have would not fit with the stock splash shield so I had to leave it out.
Also their instructions were a bit hit and miss as they did not even mention the splash shield, but some of the pics showed
the brakes installed and there was no sign of the splash shield.

Good luck and hope someone replies how had done that swap.
