Default export bar ****, almost done

I am having problems getting the export bar to align.I have the driver side on and 1 bolt in the rear but am having troubles getting the passenger side to align. I can probably lift the car and flex the piece to get it "in" enough - my problem is getting it "back" (I am about 1/4" too far forward). The rear outside shock tower screw is the farthest away - I am about 1/8" away on the outside forward screw.

I hesitate to drill out the holes and have tried lifting the car from all sides. Any ideas? Maybe, I'll try to lift from the transmission to see if it will open it up a bit.

This is about as much fun as the monte carlo bar[:@].We are just finishing up the outsidethe exterior and trying to get it running (tried to start it but having someelectrical issues figuring out the starter switch with theRon Francis kit). Here is a pic of theshock tower and the car. Thanks

here is a serpentine pic and a few of the outside, color came out a bit different - it can be anywhere from silver to brown or black depending on the light

still a ways to go but getting there, can't wait to fire it up, not to mention putting a bit of rubber down with the posi unit

At first I thought you had the wrong brace, but upon closer examination it looks like your MC Bar is deflected. I would put the up on stands, remove the MC Bar and wait a day and see how much it moves.

I took the bolts out of the monte carlo bar on the passenger side, do you think it might settle a bit? Maybe I should jack it up across the front centerpiece, where would suggest using the stands? Maybe back on the frame rail underneath the torque box so that it would settle with the shock tower moving forward? Ideas?

You might have to spread them with a bottle jack and a 2x4, I had to do that when I put mine on(67 w/351c) If you don't have access to a porta-power.

That's about how close mine was when I put it in....good pry bar should help get it in.

I would unbolt the back though....those go in last

However letting it sit overnight with two jackstands on the rear of the front frame rail will relax it a bit and it will be about as relaxed as it will get.

I jacked up the car which did get it to sag a bit. Also, I took the bolt out of the back and loosened the driver side as much as possible. After a few hours yesterday, we finally got to a result (without chipping the paint, there is a little scratch at the base of the cowl piece but you can't really see it with the export bar over it). Between this, the monte carlo bar and TCP sub-frame kit, I am hoping it "rides on rails". If I jack up the car at the front of the Stage1 part, the car works like a teeter totter and is pretty stiff, can't wait to get it rolling
