Default '65 Convertible for $45k

It looks like someone is a little too proud of their work. Am I missing something or are they actually expecting to get $45,000 for this car.

Also, how good is this deal?

It says that the weather has taken a toll on the sheet metal but I wonder how much if it is actually rust.

tell him he's dreaming...

that car wouldnt pull $45k here and we pay a premium over the US due to the extra costs of import and resto here.

hasnt been rewired, radiator looks old, underneath the car is just some bushes and braiding, color not original and my pet hate...GT pipes on C code cars.

why dontcha offer him $4500 and when he says no its $45k, tell him you thought it was a print error

on the fastback...stored outside since 74??? Doesnt it rain a lot in Oregon? Some people shouldnt be allowed to own cars at all[:@]

He says its a 4v car... A or K code?
He's keeping the engine and trans which i would want if they were original to the car. YOu'd expect they are if its been parked up since it was 8 years old.

Damn straight it rains a lot here, especially over in the valley where it's located. It's most likely rusted to hell. Now I'm kind of tempted to offer him $4500 for it.

The fastback is worth looking at if you're close by. Small money unless you're just buying a roof.

It always rains there right?

People can ask what they want, that doesn't mean they will sell it. I saw an ad for a dealer that has a 67 S code convertible with a JUST REDUCED price of $82,500. This is the same dealer a year and half ago was asking the same money for a 69 Q code convertible. Now that car was worth $82,500, but no way a 67 S code is worth north of $50K.

He invested $30k in the convertible but could not afford a better rear bumper that would actually line up? Went with a really cheap repro?

You never know, someone with deep pockets may stumble across this and pay that. He can ask whatever, doesn't mean he'll get it. Maybe he doesn't really want to sell it, just testing the market.
