I had asked about carpet once, but this question is a little different. My 66 has Ivy gold and white pony interior. I am going to replace the carpet. The dash is dark green. Was it an option with this interior to have dark green carpet? I think it may look pretty good with the dark carpet rather than the ivy gold carpet. Thanks

 

I put in dark green carpet in my 68 coupe with ivy gold interior and I think it looks very nice..I have a Meadowlark Yellow Exterior with factory tinted glass and I think it looks fine. But I'm sure you will find somebody that will tell you different..It's YOUR Car.....if you want to put cardboard down on the floor, go for it.......

 

We're going with the Ivy Gold interior and will be going with either the dark green carpets or black. Leaning towards the black as the black dash pad was replaced a few years agoand in great condition. Typically you want the dash pad and carpets to match up. Personally I wouldn't put a light carpet in unless its a show car or nice day weekend car as they simply get too dirty to fast and will show every little stain. The darker carpets will at least hide any stain which you will get if its a daily driver. As alderpulp said though.. its your car so do what your happy with.

 

Do you have pics of the dark carpet? My wife wants the ivy gold, and I am still leaning toward darker. We only use the car weekends etc. Thanks.
